Luchko's double-double lands him Higher League Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

28-year old guard Dmitriy Luchko (193-G-1997) had a great game in the last round for ChelSU Kostanay and receives a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 9.
He had a double-double of 33 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Tobyl (#15, 0-10), the league's bottom-ranked team 83-78. The game rather meaningless between the teams, which do not have any influence on top of the standings. Thanks to this victory ChelSU moved-up to the 9th position in Kazakhstan Higher League. ChelSU is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-6 record. In the team's last game Luchko had a remarkable 68.4% from 2-point range. He turned to be ChelSU's top player in his first season with the team. Luchko has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (6th best: 9.6rpg) and averages solid 53.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Anuar Shakirov (180-PG-2000) of MBK Kazygurt Shymkent. He is a guard in his 5th season at Shymkent. In the last game Shakirov recorded an impressive 23 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists. Of course he led Shymkent to another comfortable win outscoring the lower-ranked ChelSU (#9, 4-6) 102-72. Despite this victory Shymkent slide down in the standings to 4th position. His team lost just two games this season, while they won 8 matches. Shakirov is one of the most experienced players at Shymkent and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.7ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 5.3rpg and 6.3apg.

Third place about best performers goes to another ChelSU's star - forward Stanislav Rovovoy (198-F-1992). Rovovoy showcased his all-around game by recording 15 points, 17 rebounds (!!!) and 4 assists in the last round. He was another key player of ChelSU Kostanay, helping his team with a 83-78 win against Tobyl (#15, 0-10). The chances of ChelSU ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 6 games, recording just four victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Rovovoy could help ChelSU to bring them higher in the standings. Rovovoy has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 11.6rpg (2nd best).
