Hardy's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

26-year old American guard Elijah Hardy (188-G-1999) put on an amazing game in the last round for league's best team Almaty Legion and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 2.
He had a double-double of 52 points and 10 rebounds, while his team edged out Barsy Atyrau (#3, 2-4) 113-112. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. It allowed Almaty L. to consolidate first place in the Kazakhstan league. The season is still on an early stage, but Almaty L. already had a very good start winning all 6 without losing a single one. In the team's last game Hardy had a remarkable 65.2% from 2-point range and got six three-pointers out of 13 attempts. He turned to be Almaty L.'s top player in his first season with the team. California State University San Bernardino graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hardy is league's best scorer averaging so far 31.3ppg. Hardy is in league's top in rebounds (7th best: 6.3rpg), assists (2nd best: 6.0apg) and averages solid 59.6% FGP and 44.1% from behind 3-point line. Worth to mention Hardy played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Second best performed player last round was EJ Day (180-PG-1999) of league's second-best BK Astana. He is American guard in his first season at Astana. In the last game Day recorded an impressive 18 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Of course he led Astana to another comfortable win outscoring Tobol (0-4) 103-54. A very good start of the season for his team, which won so far all 4 games without any defeat. Day is a newcomer at Astana and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 18.0ppg (#4). His other stats are also decent: 5.3rpg and 7.0apg.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Michael Mays (178-PG-1999) of BK Barsy Atyrau (#3). Mays got into 30-points club by scoring 48 points in the last round. He went also for five assists. Despite Mays' great performance the Barsy Atyrau lost 112-113 to #1 ranked Almaty L.. But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of Barsy Atyrau not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 4 games, recording just two victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Mays could try to bring Barsy Atyrau's a little bit higher in the standings. Mays has individually a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 30.5ppg (2nd best) and assists with 4.0apg (8th best).
