National League Round 2 (Regular Season): Almaty L. beat Barsy Atyrau by one after a very close game

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in National League. What a coincidence that all visitors won their games. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most exciting game of round 2 in the National League took place in Atyrau. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of Barsy Atyrau to Almaty L. 113-112 on Wednesday evening. Almaty L. dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Barsy Atyrau's 32. Almaty L. had a 30-17 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Barsy Atyrau helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. saved the victory with a double-double by scoring 52 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists. contributed with 6 points, 12 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Michael Mays replied with 48 points (!!!) and 5 assists (was perfect 7-for-7 from the free throw line) for Barsy Atyrau. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Almaty L. are looking forward to face Astana in Nur-Sultan in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barsy Atyrau will have a break next round.
An interesting game for Astana which played road game in Kostanay against Tobol. Astana had an easy win 88-56. scored 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Robert Pan chipped in 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Astana's coach Ramunas Cvirka felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Pavel Ilyin responded with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Astana will play against Almaty L. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tobol will play against Caspiy Aktau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Even 18 points by Darim Sulatanov did not help to save the game for Tobol. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Astana will meet Almaty L. on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Tobol will play against Caspiy Aktau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 2: Almaty L. beat Caspiy Aktau on the road 80-71. Winless Caspiy Aktau lost to undefeated Almaty L. on its own court 72-78. Almaty L. managed to outperform Barsy Atyrau in a road game 89-83.

Caspiy Aktau - Almaty L. 71-80

No shocking result in a game when Almaty L. beat on the road Caspiy Aktau 80-71 on Saturday. Almaty L. forced 19 Caspiy Aktau turnovers and outrebounded them 38-24 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Almaty L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. notched 22 points and 5 assists to lead the effort and supported him with 11 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Almaty L.'s coach Oleg Ten used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 21 points and 5 assists by Konstantin Neff did not help to save the game for Caspiy Aktau. The former international guard Maxim Marchuk (195-1994) added 13 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts.
