The most exciting game of round 4 in the Higher League took place in Kostanay. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 6th ranked Tigers-KazATU (1-2) to fifth ranked ChelSU (2-1) 79-78 on Thursday evening. ChelSU dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Tigers-KazATU's 28. They outrebounded Tigers-KazATU 49-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. ChelSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. fired a double-double by scoring 29 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. chipped in 16 points, 15 rebounds and 8 assists. Shyndos Zhumabay produced 25 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for lost side. Tigers-KazATU's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. ChelSU maintains fifth position with 2-1 record. Tigers-KazATU at the other side dropped to the seventh place with two games lost. ChelSU are looking forward to face higher ranked Bars (#3) in Petropavlovsk in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Tigers-KazATU will play at home against Tobyl (#14) and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
Top-ranked Turan blasted bottom-ranked Champ1on (0-2) in Turkistan 76-50 keeping the perfect record after 4 rounds. Champ1on is still unable to win any game. Worth to mention a great performance of who helped to win the game recording 13 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Alymzhan Maksutov contributed with 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Bektimir Tau replied with 2 points and 9 rebounds for Champ1on. Worth to mention a great performance of Maksim Nalogov who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points, 16 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. At the losing side Darim Sulatanov responded with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bars have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 3-0 record behind leader Oral. Loser Tobyl still closes the standings with three games lost. Bars will meet at home ChelSU (#5) in the next round. Tobyl will play against Tigers-KazATU (#7) in Astana and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
