Caspiy Aktau keeps Cherkaska for another season

Caspiy Aktau (D1) re-signed 23-year-old Ukrainian 184cm forward Vira Cherkaska for the 2025-26 season. She is the second foreign player on the roster, with Georgian Nona Tsomaia signing earlier. Cherkaska played there last season, averaging 11.0ppg, 9.4rpg, 2.8apg, and 1.2spg in 9 Kazakhstan games. Her contributions helped the team reach the semifinals.
She represented Ukraine at the FIBA U20 Women's European Championship Division B in Skopje (North Macedonia) three years ago. During this event, she scored an average of 2.7 ppg and had 3.1 rpg.
Cherkaska has played previously in Croatia (Sibenik) and Ukraine (Chaika).
