Coach Ramunas Cvirka takes over at Astana

BK Astana (National League) agreed terms with experienced 58-year-old Lithuanian coach Ramunas Cvirka for the new 2025-26 season. He has coached for the last two years at Irbis.
He has coached also in Russia (Zenit 2), Ukraine, and Lithuania (Dzukija, Nevezis, and Pieno Zvaigzdes Pasvalys). Cvirka played in the final of Kazakhstan League in 2025.
Among many awards, he was voted Asia-Basket.com All-Kazakhstan League Coach of the Year in 2024.
