Irbis had a 33-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American guard Alphonso Willis (188-1998, college: A&M-Commerce, agency: Highlight Athletes) who scored 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Alexandr Zhigulin (205-1994) chipped in 15 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was the former international center Daniel Albrant (205-1998) who recorded 17 points and 8 rebounds and international point guard Daniil Severgin (183-2005) added 20 points and 5 steals respectively. Four Almaty L. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.

Astana players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a good game for Russian guard Grigory Motovilov (191-1998) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). Russian center Andrey Desiatnikov (220-1994, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks for the winners. Point guard Adilbek Bitenov (174-2001) answered with 14 points and the former international point guard Shaim Kuanov (181-1991) added 6 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Tobol. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest.
