Sixth-ranked Champ1on (3-26) used its home court advantage to challenge fourth ranked Tigers-KazATU (13-17) in Almaty on Thursday. The visitors from Astana managed to secure only one-point victory 70-69. However their fans expected easier game. Tigers-KazATU forced 27 Champ1on turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Roman Baybolov (188-2006) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Ivan Barabash (188-2007) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Bektimir Tau (200-2007) replied with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds for Champ1on. Champ1on's coach Maxim Rahimov tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Tigers-KazATU maintains fourth position with 13-17 record. Newly promoted Champ1on dropped to the bottom.
An interesting game for Turan (27-3) which hosted in Turkistan their biggest opponent Bars (24-6). First ranked Turan had an easy win 81-53. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Bars. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Alymzhan Maksutov (180-1994) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists and Begzod Mammatrimov who added 19 points, 13 rebounds and 4 blocks during the contest. At the losing side power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-1994) responded with 10 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Turan have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 27-3 record. Bars at the other side keep the second place with six games lost.

ChelSU lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 19 games lost.

In the last game of round 28 ChelSU was smashed by Shymkent on the road 96-45.
The most impressive performance of 28th round was 10 points, 8 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals by Sergei Bormatenkov of Turan.



Shymkent - ChelSU 96-45

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Shymkent (23-7) crushed at home 5th ranked ChelSU (10-19) 96-45 on Wednesday. Shymkent dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to ChelSU's 30. Shymkent forced 19 ChelSU turnovers and outrebounded them 58-31 including a 44-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-1992) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-2000) supported him with 20 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. Shymkent's coach Muslim Shakirov felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds by forward Dmitry Tkach (193-2003) did not help to save the game for ChelSU. Point guard Maxim Zhukov (173-2001) added 9 points for lost side. Shymkent maintains third position with 23-7 record having four points less than leader Turan. ChelSU lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with 19 games lost.
