Bykov's double-double lands him Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

35-year old forward Anton Bykov (200-F-1989) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked MBK Tobol Kostanay and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 20.
He had a double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds, while his team beat Irbis (#1, 20-5) 83-69. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Tobol maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Tobol will need more victories to improve their 19-7 record. In the team's last game Bykov had a remarkable 61.1% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Tobol, through which he has constantly improved. Bykov has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 21.1ppg) and averages solid 64.8% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Nikolay Bazhin (198-F-1990) of top-ranked Irbis Almaty. He is international forward in his 3rd season at Irbis. In the last game Bazhin recorded an impressive double-double of 12 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Irbis lost that game 69-83 to slightly lower-ranked Tobol (#2, 19-7). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Irbis still maintains its place as the top team in the standings, even despite this loss. It was just his team's 5th loss this season, while they won 20 other games. Bazhin is one of the most experienced players at Irbis and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Tobol's star - guard Shaim Kuanov (181-PG-1991). Kuanov scored 17 points and passed 13 assists (!!!). Despite Kuanov's great performance the MBK Tobol Kostanay lost 84-85 to #1 ranked Irbis. But his team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The last thing Tobol needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 19 victories and 7 lost games. Kuanov has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 23 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 7.6apg (best passer).
