Kazakhstan D1 round 18 best performance: Daria Surkova

Russian Swingman Daria Surkova (176-F/G-2001) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked Okzhetpes Kokshetay, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 23-year old player was the main contributor (34 points, four rebounds) to her team's victory, helping them to crush Caspiy Aktau (#4, 12-12) with 25-point margin 74-49. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Okzhetpes maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Okzhetpes will need more victories to improve their 16-7 record. In the team's last game Surkova had a remarkable eight three-pointers out of 12 attempts. It's her second year at Okzhetpes and it's hard to imagine this team without her. Daria Surkova has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 14.0ppg) and assists (9th best: 4.1apg).

The second best player in last round's games was young Ukrainian Vladyslava Voloshina (177-SG-2000, agency: BIG) of Caspiy Aktau. Voloshina had a very good evening with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists. It was enough for Caspiy Aktau to edge slightly higher-ranked Okzhetpes (#2, 16-7) 69-63. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Caspiy Aktau consolidated its place in top 4 of the standings. Her team's 12-12 record is not bad at all. Voloshina is a newcomer at Caspiy Aktau, but is already one of team's top players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 14.1ppg (#2). Her other stats are also decent: 4.2rpg and 5.1apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was former international forward Zalina Kurazova (185-F-1985) of league's top team Astana Tigers-KazATU. Kurazova scored 17 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. She was a key player of Astana Tigers, leading her team to a 73-55 easy win against #3 ranked Turan. Many experts and fans count Astana Tigers as a contender for championship title. Another victory and another confirmation that they may be right. Just look at their record: 23 victories and only one lost game. They are currently at the very top of the standings. Kurazova has a very solid season. In 18 games in Kazakhstan she scored 11.8ppg. She also has 5.6rpg and a FGP of 51.3%.
