Petrova's 16 points and 6 rebounds give her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

28-year old center Valeria Petrova (184-C-1996) put on an amazing game in the last round for Turan Turkestan and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 17.
She had the game-high 16 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Turan in her team's victory, helping them to edge out Irtysh (#5, 4-20) 61-57. Turan maintains the 3rd position in Kazakhstan D1. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Turan will need more victories to improve their 13-8 record. In the team's last game Petrova had a remarkable 70.0% from 2-point range. It was one of impressive evenings for her as usually she does not deliver so high stats. Petrova has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (8th best: 11.9ppg) and averages solid 174.2% from behind 3-point line.

Second best performed player last round was Xeniya Abdurashitova (168-PG-2001) of Irtysh Pavlodar-PNHZ. She is a guard in her 5th season at Irtysh. In the last game Abdurashitova recorded an impressive 17 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists. Bad luck as Irtysh was edged by slightly higher-ranked Turan (#3, 13-8) 61-57. Irtysh managed to keep the same 5th spot in the standings. 20 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Irtysh managed to get this year. Abdurashitova is one of the most experienced players at Irtysh and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players.

Third place about best performers goes to another Irtysh's star - guard Yekaterina Gammer (174-SG-2003). Gammer scored 12 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Despite Gammer's great performance the Irtysh Pavlodar-PNHZ lost 48-75 to slightly higher-ranked Turan (#3, 13-8). But her team cannot count on just these two top stars as they also need help of the other teammates. Irtysh can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have rather bad season and 4-20 record places them close to the bottom of the standings. Gammer has a very solid season. In 20 games in Kazakhstan she scored 7.5ppg.
