Akhmetzhan's double-double lands him Higher League Player of the Week award

26-year old forward Askar Akhmetzhan (198-F-1998) had a very impressive game in the last round for Astana Tigers-KazATU and receives a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 25.
He had a double-double of 31 points and 12 rebounds, while his team beat ChelSU (#5, 9-15) 71-66. Tigers-KazATU is placed at 4th position in Kazakhstan Higher League. Tigers-KazATU is rather a weak team placed in lower part in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 9-14 record. In the team's last game Akhmetzhan had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range. He turned to be Tigers-KazATU's top player in his first season with the team. Akhmetzhan has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (7th best: 16.5ppg), rebounds (4th best: 8.4rpg) and averages solid 52.2% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Anuar Shakirov (180-PG-2000) of MBK Kazygurt Shymkent. He is a guard in his 4th season at Shymkent. His team's 19-5 record is not bad at all. Shakirov is one of the most experienced players at Shymkent and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 23.1ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 6.2rpg and 5.2apg.

Third place about best performers goes to swingman Mikhail Mudragelya (193-F/G-2001) of ChelSU Kostanay (#5). Mudragelya showcased his all-around game by recording 23 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Mudragelya's great performance the ChelSU lost 66-71 to slightly higher-ranked Tigers-KazATU (#4, 9-14). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of ChelSU not to end season at such low position in the league, however are less than slim as they have already lost 15 games, recording just nine victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Mudragelya could try to bring ChelSU's a little bit higher in the standings. Mudragelya has individually a great season in Kazakhstan. After 13 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.9ppg (5th best). He also has 3.9spg and a FGP of 56.4%.
