The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Turan (19-3) on the court of third ranked Shymkent on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Shymkent 79-75. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Turan. Strangely Turan outrebounded Shymkent 50-34 including 36 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-1992) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 21 points and 12 rebounds and point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-2000) who added 15 points and 6 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Alexander Papshiv (191-1991) with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Shymkent (17-5) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain third position having just two points less than leader Turan. Turan at the other side still keeps top place with three games lost. However their fans expected easier game.
