Experienced Maksim Nalogov (198-F/C-1994) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best MBK Bars Petropavlovsk and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 24.
The 30-year old power forward had the game-high 24 points adding seven rebounds and two assists for Bars in his team's victory, helping them to beat Champ1on (#6, 3-18) 69-56. Bars maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They are still close to the very top. Bars would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 17-4 record. In the team's last game Nalogov had a remarkable 72.7% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Bars, through which he has constantly improved. Nalogov has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 17.6ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 9.4rpg) and averages solid 52.0% FGP and 46.1% from behind 3-point line.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young center Saveliy Shestak (200-C-2007) of Karaganda. Shestak impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 14 points and 14 rebounds. It was enough for Karaganda to edge the higher-ranked ChelSU (#4, 8-12) by 1 point 73-72. Despite this victory they still are dead at the bottom. 19 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Karaganda managed to get this year. Shestak is a newcomer at Karaganda and despite he is not a team leader yet, every game he becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

The third best performed player last round was Dmitry Tkach (193-F-2003) of ChelSU Kostanay (#4). Tkach scored 20 points and grabbed 15 rebounds (!!!). Despite Tkach's great performance the ChelSU lost 72-73 to the lower-ranked Karaganda (#7, 2-19). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of ChelSU ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 12 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Tkach could help ChelSU to bring them higher in the standings. Tkach has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 20 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 7.1rpg (8th best).

The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc.
The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy.
The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3*(REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4*(2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3*(2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3*(3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
