Shakirov's 37-point game gives him Higher League Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

24-year old point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-PG-2000) put on an amazing game in the last round for MBK Kazygurt Shymkent and receives a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 22.
He had the game-high 37 points adding nine rebounds and four assists for Shymkent in his team's victory, helping them to beat Champ1on (#6, 3-17) 89-74. Shymkent maintains the 3rd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They are still close to the very top. Shymkent would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 16-4 record. In the team's last game Shakirov had a remarkable 52.6% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Shymkent, through which he has constantly improved. Shakirov has impressive league stats. He is league's best scorer averaging so far 24.4ppg. Shakirov is in league's top in assists (4th best: 4.9apg) and averages solid 2.7spg and 52.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Maksim Nalogov (198-F/C-1994) of league's second-best MBK Bars Petropavlovsk. He is a forward in his 12th season at Bars. In the last game Nalogov recorded an impressive double-double of 18 points and 12 rebounds. Of course he led Bars to another comfortable win outscoring slightly lower-ranked ChelSU (#4, 8-11) 79-57. It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Bars consolidated its place in top 2 of the standings. His team lost just four games this season, while they won 16 matches. Nalogov is one of the most experienced players at Bars and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.3ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 9.5rpg and 3.7apg.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Dmitry Tkach (193-F-2003) of ChelSU Kostanay (#4). Tkach scored 15 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Despite Tkach's great performance the ChelSU lost 57-79 to #2 ranked Bars. But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates especially in such crucial game. The chances of ChelSU ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 11 games, recording just eight victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Tkach could help ChelSU to bring them higher in the standings. Tkach has a very solid season. In 19 games in Kazakhstan he scored 7.1ppg. He also has 6.6rpg and a FGP of 52.4%.
