An interesting game for Bars (15-4) which hosted in Petropavlovsk 4th ranked ChelSU (8-11). Third ranked Bars had an easy win 79-57. Bars dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to ChelSU's 32. Bars forced 24 ChelSU turnovers and had a 14-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-1994) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Artem Kozyrkin (185-1998) contributed with 18 points and 6 assists for the winners. Bars' coach Evgeniy Ovsyannikov felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Dmitry Tkach (193-2003) replied with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for ChelSU. Bars moved-up to second place, which they share with Shymkent. Higher League top team - Turan (17-2) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed seventh ranked Karaganda (1-18) in Turkistan 102-53. Power forward Begzod Mammatrimov (198-2004) had a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Eset Zharkylov chipped in 17 points and 5 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) during the contest. At the losing side guard Maulen Kenzhegulov (188-2004) responded with 13 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Turan have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 17-2 record. Karaganda lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Turan will play against Champ1on (#6) in Almaty in the next round where they are favorite.
