An interesting game for Turan (17-2) which played road game in Kostanay against 4th placed ChelSU (8-11). First ranked Turan managed to get a 10-point victory 75-65. Turan forced 24 ChelSU turnovers. It was a good game for guard Alymzhan Maksutov (180-1994) who led his team to a victory with 26 points. Forward Sergei Bormatenkov (191-1991) contributed with 12 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Turan's coach Yunus Irismetov used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Forward Dmitry Tkach (193-2003) answered with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds for ChelSU. Turan have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 17-2 record. ChelSU lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the fourth position with 11 games lost. Turan are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Karaganda (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ChelSU will play against the league's second-placed Bars in Petropavlovsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Shymkent did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 91-73. Point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-2000) stepped up and scored 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) for the winners and Aleksei Vereshagin chipped in 28 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was swingman Medeu Aukesh (195-2005) with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Shymkent have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bars. Karaganda lost eighth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 18 lost games. Shymkent will play against Champ1on (#6) in Almaty in the next round. Karaganda will play on the road against the league's leader Turan in Turkistan to get more than just one victory in their record.

Askar Akhmetzhan nailed 25 points for the winning side. Tolebi Maligen came up with 24 points and 5 steals for Champ1on in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. Tigers-KazATU have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fifth place with 7-11 record. Newly promoted Champ1on keeps the sixth position with 16 games lost. Tigers-KazATU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Champ1on will play against Shymkent (#3) and hope to secure a win.
