The game between second ranked Okzhetpes (5-3) and fourth ranked Turan (5-5) was the most important one in the last round on Friday night. Okzhetpes were defeated by Turan in a tough game in Turkestan 55-64. Turan forced 20 Okzhetpes turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. It was a great evening for center Valeria Petrova (184-1996) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 7 rebounds. Guard Akmaral Ryskulbek (173-1998) helped adding 18 points and 5 rebounds. At the losing side Russian power forward Olga Aksenova (187-1996) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists. Defending champion maintains fourth place with 5-5 record. Okzhetpes at the other side dropped to the third position with three games lost. Turan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Okzhetpes will play at home against the league's second-placed Caspiy Aktau and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

D1 top team - Astana Tigers (9-1) had no problems winning another game on Thursday. This time they beat sixth ranked Aktobe (1-9) 54-37. Ganna Rulyova fired 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Astana Tigers' coach Vitaliy Strebkov used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Angelina Mihaylova produced 6 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists for lost side. Astana Tigers have an impressive series of six victories in a row. They maintain first place with 9-1 record. Aktobe lost eighth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with nine games lost. Astana Tigers will meet Irtysh (#5) in the next round. Aktobe will have a break next round.

There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 7: Irtysh was destroyed by Caspiy Aktau on the opponent's court 84-59. Caspiy Aktau outscored Irtysh in a home game 85-63. Astana Tigers rolled over Aktobe on the road 82-27.

It was an exceptional evening for Russian power forward Olga Aksenova (187-1996) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 17 rebounds and 7 assists. Russian swingman Kristina Goncharuk (175-2001, college: E.Florida St.) accounted for 15 points and 4 assists for the winning side. Center Valeria Petrova (184-1996) came up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Milana Alyoshkova (162-2002) added 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Turan in the defeat.
