National League Round 4 of Regular Season

There were just four rounds played in Regular Season of National League and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

First defeat of league's leader Caspiy Aktau (4-1) against second ranked Almaty L. (4-1) 76-58 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Caspiy Aktau. It was a key game for the top position in the league. They outrebounded Caspiy Aktau 49-25 including a 23-10 advantage in offensive rebounds. Almaty L. looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Caspiy Aktau helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Daniel Albrant (205-1998) who helped to win the game recording 14 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Stanislav Sahipov (190-2002) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Forward Artem Rolgeyzer (192-2002) replied with 12 points and 8 rebounds for Caspiy Aktau. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Almaty L. have a solid four-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with defeated Caspiy Aktau. Caspiy Aktau will play next round against strong Irbis trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Almaty L. will try to continue on its current victory against second ranked Caspiy Aktau at home.
Bottom-ranked Irtysh is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to sixth ranked Tobol (2-2) 107-74. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Anton Bykov (200-1989) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and Konstantin Dvirnyi who added 25 points during the contest. At the losing side forward Alexey Alyonushka (190-1995) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds. Irtysh's coach Branislav Gregoric gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Tobol moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Irtysh at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Tobol will play against Astana Ac. (#7) on the road in the next round. Irtysh will play against Barsy Atyrau and hopes to get finally their first victory.

Irtysh's coach Branislav Gregoric already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Tobol moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Irtysh still closes the standings with four games lost. Tobol will meet Astana Ac. (#7) on the road in the next round. Irtysh will play against Barsy Atyrau and looks forward to get finally their first victory.

Irtysh - Tobol 74-107

Bottom-ranked Irtysh is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to sixth ranked Tobol (2-2) 107-74. Tobol dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Irtysh's 36. Tobol forced 30 Irtysh turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international forward Anton Bykov (200-1989) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and the former international swingman Konstantin Dvirnyi (192-1988) who added 25 points during the contest. Four Tobol players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Alexey Alyonushka (190-1995) responded with 22 points and 6 rebounds and guard Ali Isagulov (186-2004) scored 8 points and 6 assists. Irtysh's coach Branislav Gregoric gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Tobol moved-up to third place, which they share with 3 other teams. Bottom-ranked Irtysh is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to sixth ranked Tobol (2-2) 111-72 on Wednesday evening. Tobol dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Irtysh's 34 and made 17-of-19 free shots (89.5 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Irtysh 54-28 including a 37-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tobol looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Anton Bykov (200-1989) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!), 24 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Adilbek Bitenov (174-2001) supported him with 21 points and 5 rebounds. Four Tobol players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 6 rebounds by forward Nazim Adylbekov (200-2001) did not help to save the game for Irtysh.
