Former international Forward Rufina Gavriluk (175-F-1986) had an amazing evening in the last round for second-ranked Turan Turkestan, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 38-year old player was the main contributor (17 points, nine rebounds and five assists) to her team's victory, helping them to beat Irtysh (#6, 0-2), the league's bottom-ranked team 71-56. Turan was forced-out from the top positions in Kazakhstan D1. Turan is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 2-2 record. In the team's last game Gavriluk had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range. She has many years of experience at Turan, through which she has constantly improved. Rufina Gavriluk has solid league stats. She is in league's top in points (9th best: 10.0ppg) and averages impressive 3.0spg and 51.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Belarusian Aliaksandra Chyzheuskaya (185-PF-2002) of Caspiy Aktau. Chyzheuskaya had a very good evening with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Caspiy Aktau was edged by Aktobe (1-1) 61-59. The season is still at the very beginning and this lost game may not be such crucial, of course if they start win the games. Let's wait for the next round. Chyzheuskaya is a newcomer at Caspiy Aktau and despite she is not a team leader yet, every game she becomes more reliable player. Hopefully performances like the last one will happen more often.

Third on the list of top players last round was Russian center Aleksandra Varaksina (190-C-1993) of Aktobe (#4). Varaksina showcased her all-around game by recording 14 points, 12 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. She was a key player of Aktobe, leading her team to a 61-59 win against #3 ranked Caspiy Aktau in a game of the week. Aktobe needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 1 victory and 1 lost game. Varaksina has a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 2 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 13.0ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 11.0rpg (3rd best).
