Astana inks T.J. Starks, ex Juventus

T.J. Starks

BK Astana (National League) agreed terms with 25-year-old American guard T.J. Starks (188cm-94kg-1998, college: CSUN) for the new 2024-25 season. He was the top scorer at Juventus in the Lithuanian LKL league last season, where in 15 games he had very impressive stats: 16.1ppg, 2.3rpg, 3.4apg, and 1.2spg. He also played 2 games in the European North Basketball League, where he recorded 12.0ppg, 1.5rpg, 1.5apg, and 2.0spg. The other team he played for briefly was Apollon Patras (GBL) in the Greek league.
Starks is quite an experienced player. He has played in six different countries on three different continents (Europe, Asia, and of course North America). Starks has played professionally in Greece (Kolossos H Hotels Rodou), Qatar (Al Rayyan), Turkey (Yalovaspor), NBA G League (Wisconsin Herd), and NBA Summer League (Sacramento Kings).
He won the Qatari League championship title in 2023 among many awards. He was also voted All-Big West Newcomer of the Year back in 2021 during his college time.
He graduated from California State University Northridge in 2021 and it'll be his fourth season as a pro player. Starks also played for Texas A&M University for 3 years.
