Irbis dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Irtysh's 34. Irbis forced 21 Irtysh turnovers and outrebounded them 52-23 including a 18-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for the former international forward Alexander Zhigulin (205-1994) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 9 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). International center Robert Pan (202-1995) helped adding 20 points. Irbis' coach Ramunas Cvirka felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Nazim Adylbekov (200-2001) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 10 rebounds and Vadim Bagrov (187-2000) scored 17 points and 4 assists.

It was an exceptional evening for Russian Dmitriy Doynikov (204-1994) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists. The former international point guard Shaim Kuanov (181-1991) accounted for 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side. American point guard Keshon Tabb (180-1999, college: Rust) came up with 32 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 8 steals and point guard Daniil Severgin (183-2005) added 24 points and 6 assists respectively for Almaty L. in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Almaty L.'s coach Iakov Fokin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
