This was an impressive game for Anuar Shakirov (180-PG-2000) as the 25 year old point guard had 44 points when his team Shymkent beat the Tigers-KazATU 90 to 81. He was the second highest scoring player of that day in the world. Shakirov also added 9 rebounds and 6 assists that evening. He is the best scorer in the league averaging over 25 points and over 6 assists per game.
Among many awards he won the Kazakhstan Higher League championship title in 2018 and 2023. Shakirov was also selected as the Asia-Basket.com All-Kazakhstan Higher League Player of the Year in 2023. He was selected the Asia-Basket.com All-Kazakhstan Higher League First Team between 2022 and 2023.
Shakirov was also awarded Player of the Week in the Kazakhstan Higher League III times already this season.
