Kazakhstan Higher League round 22 best performance: Aleksei Vereshagin (by Hoops Agents)

Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-F-1992) put on an amazing game in the last round for second-ranked MBK Kazygurt Shymkent, receiving a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 22.
The 31-year old player had a double-double of 26 points and 10 rebounds, while his team beat Bars (#4, 15-9) 79-74. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Shymkent maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Shymkent will need more victories to improve their 19-5 record. In the team's last game Vereshagin had a remarkable 73.3% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at Shymkent, through which he has constantly improved. Aleksei Vereshagin has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 21.6ppg), rebounds (4th best: 10.6rpg) and averages impressive 58.8% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Begzod Mammatrimov (198-C/F-2004) of Turan. Mammatrimov had a very good evening with a double-double of 22 points and 23 rebounds. Third on the list of top players last round was another Shymkent's star - guard Anuar Shakirov (180-PG-2000). Shakirov showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists in the last round. He was another key player of MBK Kazygurt Shymkent, helping his team with a 79-74 win against #4 ranked Bars in a game of the week. Shymkent needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 19 victories and 5 lost games. Shakirov has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 24 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 24.3ppg (best scorer) and assists with 6.1apg (5th best).
