31-year old American point guard Shakir Smith (185-PG-1992) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Aktobe and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 23.
He had the game-high 38 points adding two rebounds and seven assists for Aktobe in his team's victory, helping them to beat Almaty L. (#6, 9-14) 100-91. Aktobe maintains the 4th position in Kazakhstan league. Aktobe is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 12-10 record. In the team's last game Smith had a remarkable 57.1% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 7 attempts. He turned to be Aktobe's top player in his first season with the team. Adams State University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Smith is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.1ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.8apg) and averages solid 2.3spg.

Second best performed player last round was Aleksandr Kalashnikov (196-F-2002) of BK Caspiy Aktau. He is Russian forward in his first season at Caspiy Aktau. In the last game Kalashnikov recorded an impressive double-double of 29 points and 11 rebounds. Of course Caspiy Aktau cruised to a 78-69 relatively comfortable win over slightly lower-ranked Irtysh (#8, 1-23). Caspiy Aktau's 7th position in the standings has not changed. 18 lost games are too many comparing to just six victories Caspiy Aktau managed to get this year. Kalashnikov is a newcomer at Caspiy Aktau and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.8ppg (#5). He also registered 6.1 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to forward Ramazan Samsin (200-F-2002) of league's second-best BK Barsy Atyrau. Samsin scored 24 points and grabbed 17 rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Barsy Atyrau, leading his team to a 77-67 win against the lower-ranked Irtysh (#8, 1-23). Barsy Atyrau needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 16 victories and 7 lost games. Samsin has a very solid season. In 23 games in Kazakhstan he scored 6.8ppg. He also has 4.5rpg and a FGP of 63.8%.
