Best players of Kazakhstan D1 round 13 (by Hoops Agents)

Alexandra Petelina (168-PG-1998) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Caspiy Aktau and that's her to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 13.
The 25-year old playmaker had the game-high 40 points adding six rebounds and four assists for Caspiy Aktau in her team's victory, helping them to beat Barsy Atyrau (#8, 1-16) 90-80. Caspiy Aktau maintains the 6th position in Kazakhstan D1. Caspiy Aktau is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 7-10 record. In the team's last game Petelina had a remarkable 75.0% from 2-point range and got four three-pointers out of 8 attempts. She has many years of experience at Caspiy Aktau, through which she has constantly improved. Petelina has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in points (3rd best: 18.6ppg), assists (3rd best: 5.7apg) and averages solid 52.4% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young Ukrainian shooting guard Elizaveta Mitina (171-SG-1998) of Tomiris Almaty. The third best performed player last round was American Ashiala Jackson (186-F-1998) of Barsy Atyrau (#8). Jackson showcased her all-around game by recording 24 points, 13 rebounds (!!!) and 5 assists in the last round. Despite Jackson's great performance the Barsy Atyrau lost 69-83 to the higher-ranked Aktobe (#3, 13-4). But her team cannot count on just a single player as she also needs help of the other teammates. Barsy Atyrau can only dream about fighting for top spots in the league. They have extremely bad season and 1-16 record places them at the very bottom of the standings. Jackson has a very solid season. In 4 games in Kazakhstan she scored 15.5ppg. Jackson attended one of camps at Eurobasket Summer League on her way to pro basketball.
