Kazakhstan D1 round 12 best performance: Yana Kotova (by Hoops Agents)

Russian Forward Yana Kotova (185-F-1988) put on an amazing game in the last round for Tomiris Almaty, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 12.
The 35-year old player had a double-double of 32 points and 13 rebounds, while her team beat Irtysh (#7, 3-12) 83-74. Tomiris maintains the 4th position in Kazakhstan D1. Tomiris is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 8-8 record. In the team's last game Kotova had a remarkable 66.7% from 2-point range. She turned to be Tomiris' top player in her first season with the team. Yana Kotova has solid league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 12.7rpg) and averages impressive 55.5% FGP.

Third on the list of top players last round was international forward Nadezhda Yakovleva (183-F/C-2003) of Okzhetpes Kokshetay (#5). Yakovleva got into 30-points club by scoring exactly 30 points in the last round. She went also for eleven rebounds and four assists. She was a key player of Okzhetpes, leading her team to a 76-64 win against the higher-ranked Astana Tigers (#1, 13-3). The chances of Okzhetpes ranking at the top of the league, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of her teammates, Yakovleva could help Okzhetpes to bring them higher in the standings. Yakovleva has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 15 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 8.8rpg (8th best).
