American Forward Jamaure Gregg (201-F-1999) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for second-ranked BK Barsy Atyrau, receiving a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 18.
The 24-year old player was the main contributor (30 points, seven rebounds) to his team's victory, helping them to beat Aktobe (#5, 9-9) 91-85. Barsy Atyrau maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan National League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Third on the list of top players last round was American guard Shakir Smith (185-PG-1992) of Aktobe (#5). Smith scored 27 points and passed 7 assists. Despite Smith's great performance the Aktobe lost 85-91 to the higher-ranked Barsy Atyrau (#2, 13-5). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The last thing Aktobe needs is to lose another game like this one. They lose more and more distance to the top teams. Their record is 9 victories and 9 lost games. Smith has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 5.1apg (7th best).
