An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Shymkent. First ranked Tigers-KazATU faced second-ranked Shymkent. Guests from Astana (14-1) smashed host Shymkent (11-4) 102-80. Tigers-KazATU dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to Shymkent's 38. They outrebounded Shymkent 44-28 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tigers-KazATU looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists comparing to just 25 passes made by Shymkent's players. The best player for the winners was forward Ruslanbek Marat (201-2005) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists. Swingman Nurislam Abilseytuly (193-2003) chipped in 18 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-2000) produced 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the hosts. Shymkent's coach Muslim Shakirov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted Tigers-KazATU maintains first position with 14-1 record. Shymkent at the other side keeps the second place with four games lost. Tigers-KazATU are looking forward to face Turan (#3) in Turkistan in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Sergey Dyatlik contributed with 12 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. Guard Dmitriy Luchko (193-1997) replied with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds for ChelSU. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bars moved-up to third place, which they share with Turan. ChelSU at the other side keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. Bars will play against Barsy 2 (#6) in Atyrau in the next round. ChelSU will have a break next round.
In the last two games of round 14 bottom-ranked Altay was defeated by Turan in Turkistan 107-96. Barsy 2 was beaten by Karaganda at home 64-76.
