Higher League Round 12 (Regular Season): Turan lose to Tigers-KazATU in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

3rd ranked host Turan (8-4) lost to top-ranked Tigers-KazATU (12-0) 86-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Turan. Tigers-KazATU dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Turan's 34. Tigers-KazATU forced 20 Turan turnovers and outrebounded them 40-29 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Tigers-KazATU looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Eset Zharkylov (195-1998) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 14 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) and forward Alexey Alyonushka (190-1995) who added 18 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals during the contest. The best for the losing side was guard Alymzhan Maksutov (180-1994) with 25 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists. Undefeated Tigers-KazATU have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Newly promoted Tigers-KazATU maintains first position with 12-0 record. Turan at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Bars. Tigers-KazATU are looking forward to face ChelSU (#5) in Kostanay in the next round. Turan will play on the road against Karaganda and is hoping to prove to their fans that the loss was just an accident.
The game in Atyrau supposed to be also worth to mention about. Fourth ranked Bars (8-4) played at the court of 5th ranked Barsy 2 (4-8). Bars smashed Barsy 2 84-63. The winners were led by power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-1994) who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 7 assists and Anton Lastovets supported him with 17 points, 11 rebounds, 7 assists and 6 steals. Even 19 points and 7 assists by guard Bolatbek Baktygali (185-2006) did not help to save the game for Barsy 2. Bars moved-up to third place, which they share with Turan. Barsy 2 at the other side keeps the fifth position with eight games lost. They share it with ChelSU. Bars will play against league's second-placed Shymkent at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Barsy 2 will play against Altay in Oskemen and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Oskemen supposed to be also quite interesting. Sixth ranked ChelSU (4-8) played at the court of 8th ranked Altay (1-11). ChelSU smashed Altay 98-69 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was Dmitriy Luchko who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. ChelSU's coach Alexander Derbush felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Vladislav Baturin who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds. ChelSU moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Barsy 2. Altay lost ninth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 11 games lost. ChelSU will meet league's leader Tigers-KazATU in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Altay will play against Barsy 2 (#6) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last game of round 12 Karaganda was destroyed by Shymkent on the opponent's court 101-56.




Barsy 2 - Bars 63-84

ChelSU looked well-organized offensively handing out 39 assists comparing to just 20 passes made by Altay's players. The best player for the winners was guard Dmitriy Luchko (193-1997) who had a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Arsen Mzikyan (190-2006) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points, 13 rebounds and 6 assists. Four ChelSU players scored in double figures. Shymkent - Karaganda 101-56

Very expected game when 7th ranked Karaganda (2-10) was crushed on the road by second ranked Shymkent (9-3) 101-56 on Tuesday. Shymkent dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Karaganda's 24. They outrebounded Karaganda 51-30 including a 35-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Shymkent looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. The best player for the winners was forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-1992) who had a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Point guard Akbar Ibrahimov (180-2003) chipped in 25 points and 6 rebounds. Four Shymkent players scored in double figures.
