Higher League Round 11 (Regular Season): Tigers-KazATU beat Shymkent in the most crucial game of the week

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Astana. Leader Tigers-KazATU faced second-ranked Shymkent. Host Tigers-KazATU (11-0) smashed guests from Shymkent (8-3) 107-81. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Shymkent. Tigers-KazATU dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to Shymkent's 46. They outrebounded Shymkent 52-21 including a 37-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Tigers-KazATU looked well-organized offensively handing out 42 assists comparing to just 29 passes made by Shymkent's players. The best player for the winners was swingman Dinislam Abilseytuly (193-2003) who had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. Forward Adil Narimanov (196-2001) chipped in 23 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-1992) produced 25 points for the guests. Shymkent's coach Muslim Shakirov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Undefeated Tigers-KazATU have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Newly promoted Tigers-KazATU maintains first place with 11-0 record. Shymkent at the other side keeps the second position with three games lost. They share it with Turan. Tigers-KazATU are looking forward to face Turan (#3) in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Shymkent will play against Karaganda and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.

Forward Vladislav Baturin (188-1995) answered with 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for Altay. Turan moved-up to second place, which they share with Shymkent. Altay lost their eighth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with ten games lost. Turan will play against league's leader Tigers-KazATU in Astana in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Altay will play on the road against ChelSU (#6) in Kostanay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Karaganda supposed to be also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Barsy 2 (4-7) played at the court of 7th ranked Karaganda (2-9). Barsy 2 smashed Karaganda 86-62 on Monday. It was a great evening for Adil Kuantaev who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 17 rebounds. Barsy 2's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Askar Esentaev responded with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Barsy 2 moved-up to fifth place. Karaganda lost their third game in a row. They keep the seventh position with nine games lost. Barsy 2 will meet at home higher ranked Bars (#4) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Karaganda will play against the league's second-placed Shymkent and hope to secure a win.

In the last game of round 11 ChelSU was defeated by Bars in Petropavlovsk 89-71.




Altay - Turan 76-92

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 5th ranked ChelSU's (3-8) road loss to fourth ranked Bars (7-4) 71-89 on Monday. Bars dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to ChelSU's 30. Bars forced 20 ChelSU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-1994) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!), 8 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals. Forward Sergey Dyatlik (194-1997) helped adding 14 points, 5 rebounds and 11 assists. Four Bars players scored in double figures. Guard Dmitriy Luchko (193-1997) responded with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds and guard Vasiliy Belozor (186-2001) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bars maintains fourth place with 7-4 record. Loser ChelSU dropped to the sixth position with eight games lost. Bars will meet Barsy 2 (#5) in the next round. ChelSU will play against Altay and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
