Kotova's double-double lands her Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

35-year old Russian forward Yana Kotova (185-F-1988) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Tomiris Almaty and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 8.
She had a double-double of 25 points and 24 rebounds, while her team edged out Irtysh (#6, 2-6) 68-64. Tomiris maintains the 4th position in Kazakhstan D1. Tomiris is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 4-5 record. Kotova turned to be Tomiris' top player in her first season with the team. Kotova has impressive league stats. She is in league's top in rebounds (2nd best: 13.3rpg) and averages solid 2.4spg and 53.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Nadezhda Yakovleva (183-F/C-2003) of Okzhetpes Kokshetay. She is international forward in her 6th season at Okzhetpes. Okzhetpes managed to keep the same 7th spot in the standings. 6 lost games are too many comparing to just two victories Okzhetpes managed to get this year. Yakovleva is one of the most experienced players at Okzhetpes and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. She belongs to the best scorers in the league with 16.3ppg (#6). She also registered 8.5 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Vladyslava Voloshyna (177-SG-2000, agency: BIG) of Turan Turkestan (#3). Voloshyna scored 24 points and passed six assists. She was a key player of Turan, leading her team to a 66-44 easy win against the lower-ranked Barsy Atyrau (#8, 1-8). Turan needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 6 victories and 2 lost games. Voloshyna has a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 8 games, she made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 4.5apg (4th best).
