Garrett's double-double lands him Player of the Week award

28-year old American point guard Jarvis Garrett (182-PG-1995) had a very impressive game in the last round for second-ranked BK Barsy Atyrau and receives a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 10.
He got a double-double of 29 points and 15 assists, while his team beat Aktobe (#4, 5-3) 96-89. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Barsy Atyrau maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan league. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Barsy Atyrau will need more victories to improve their 7-3 record. In the team's last game Garrett had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Barsy Atyrau's top player in his first season with the team. University of Rhode Island graduate has very impressive stats this year. Garrett is in league's top in points (2nd best: 21.3ppg) and averages solid 2.9spg and 51.7% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Valeriy Likhodey (205-PF-1986) of Astana Academy. He is Russian forward in his first season at Astana Ac.. In the last game Likhodey recorded impressive 22 points, 9 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course Astana Ac. cruised to a 85-73 relatively comfortable win over the lower-ranked Almaty L. (#6, 4-6). Astana Ac.'s 3rd position in the standings has not changed. His team's 7-3 record is not bad at all. Likhodey is a newcomer at Astana Ac. and quickly became one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 17.2ppg (#8). He also registered 7.6 boards per game.

Third place about best performers goes to center Jai Williams (206-C-1995) of Aktobe (#4). Williams showcased his all-around game by recording 24 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Aktobe, leading his team to a 98-97 win against #2 ranked Barsy Atyrau in a game of the week. Aktobe needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 5 victories and 3 lost games. Williams has a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 8 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 20.0ppg (3rd best) and rebounds with 8.3rpg (6th best).
