An interesting game for Astana Tigers (4-1) which played road game in Kokshetay against 4th placed Okzhetpes (2-3). Third ranked Astana Tigers managed to get a 8-point victory 65-57. Astana Tigers forced 21 Okzhetpes turnovers. International forward Daria Koroleva (182-1988) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. The former international forward Kamazhay Otegenova (180-2001) contributed with 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. The former international power forward Nadezhda Yakovleva (183-2003) answered with 16 points and 6 rebounds for Okzhetpes. Astana Tigers have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Turan. Okzhetpes at the other side keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Tomiris. Astana Tigers is looking forward to face bottom-ranked Irtysh (#8) in Pavlodar in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Okzhetpes will play on the road against Tomiris (#5) in Almaty and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

Russian forward Yana Kotova (185-1988, agency: TPA) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 20 rebounds. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Irtysh left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Barsy Atyrau and Caspiy Aktau. Tomiris at the other side keep the fourth position with three games lost. They share it with Okzhetpes. Irtysh will play against league's second-placed Astana Tigers on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Tomiris will play against Okzhetpes and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
D1 top team - Aktobe (5-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Barsy Atyrau (1-4) 87-62. Olga Aksenova nailed 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Aktobe's coach Ilya Rodionov felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Katrina Trankale came up with 27 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for Barsy Atyrau in the defeat. Undefeated Aktobe have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 5-0 record. Loser Barsy Atyrau keeps the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Irtysh and Caspiy Aktau. Aktobe will meet at home Caspiy Aktau (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Barsy Atyrau will play against Turan in Turkestan and hope to win that game.

Caspiy Aktau - Turan 66-82

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Turan (4-1) beat on the road 7th ranked Caspiy Aktau (1-4) 82-66 on Tuesday. Turan forced 19 Caspiy Aktau turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. Turan looked well-organized offensively handing out 31 assists. Ukrainian power forward Ganna Rulyova (183-1986, agency: BIG) nailed a double-double by scoring 29 points, 23 rebounds and 9 assists for the winning side and Armenian guard Inga Manucharyan (177-2000) accounted for 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Point guard Alexandra Petelina (168-1998) came up with 22 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists and Japanese point guard Mone Izumi (162-1998, college: GBC) added 13 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals respectively for Caspiy Aktau in the defeat. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with Astana Tigers. Caspiy Aktau lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. They share it with Irtysh and Barsy Atyrau. Turan will meet at home Barsy Atyrau (#6) in the next round. Caspiy Aktau will play against the league's leader Aktobe and hope to win that game.
