An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Shymkent. Third ranked Turan faced their close opponent Shymkent. Guests from (6-2) defeated host Shymkent (6-2) 105-95. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Shymkent. Turan looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Alymzhan Maksutov (180-1994) who scored 32 points and 8 assists. Guard Kazybek Serikbay (188-2003) chipped in 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-2000) who recorded 30 points and 8 assists. Turan have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with defeated Shymkent. Turan is looking forward to face Barsy 2 (#6) in Atyrau in the next round. Shymkent will play on the road against ChelSU (#5) in Kostanay and is hoping to win this game.
Undefeated leader Tigers-KazATU delivered the seventh consecutive victory. This time they beat 8th ranked Karaganda (2-6) 64-58. It was a good game for center Rustam Lukmanov (197-1999) who led his team to a victory with 16 points and 9 rebounds. Eset Zharkylov contributed with 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Tigers-KazATU's coach Vladislav Gryzunkov allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Dias Katarbay (183-2001) replied with 17 points and 5 assists for Karaganda. Undefeated Tigers-KazATU (7-0) have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Newly promoted Tigers-KazATU maintains first position with a perfect record of 7 victories in a row. Karaganda at the other side dropped to the fifth place with six games lost. They share the position with Barsy 2 and ChelSU. Tigers-KazATU will play against bottom-ranked Altay (#8) in Oskemen in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Karaganda will play at home against Bars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game with biggest result difference took place in Petropavlovsk. Local Bars (5-2) outscored 7th ranked Altay (1-7) 74-36 on Friday night. Anatoly Alash scored 20 points and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was Vladislav Baturin with 21 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bars have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 5-2 record. Altay lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the bottom place with seven games lost. Bars will meet Karaganda (#7) on the road in the next round. Altay will play against the league's leader Tigers-KazATU in Astana and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 6 Barsy 2 was defeated by ChelSU in Kostanay 79-69.




Shymkent - Turan 95-105

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 6th ranked Barsy 2's (2-6) road loss to fifth ranked ChelSU (2-6) 69-79 on Friday. ChelSU forced 19 Barsy 2 turnovers. Guard Vasiliy Belozor (186-2001) scored 29 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals to lead the charge for the winners and guard Dmitriy Luchko (193-1997) chipped in 20 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. ChelSU's coach Alexander Derbush used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was forward Abat Marat (180-2005) with 26 points and 7 assists and guard Adil Kuantaev (185-2005) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 16 rebounds. Four Barsy 2 players scored in double figures. ChelSU maintains fifth position with 2-6 record, which they share with Barsy 2 and Karaganda. Barsy 2 lost fourth consecutive game. ChelSU will meet at home higher ranked Shymkent (#3) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Barsy 2 will play against the league's second-placed Turan and hope to secure a win.
