D1 Round 2 (Regular Season): Turan hands first loss to Tomiris

There were only 2 rounds played so far and it's still very beginning of the Regular Season in D1. Here is the last round review presented by LBM Management.

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Tomiris in Almaty on Wednesday night. Hosts were rolled over by Turan 71-47. Turan held Tomiris to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.9 percent accuracy of the winners. Turan forced 22 Tomiris turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Tomiris' players. Ukrainian power forward Ganna Rulyova (183-1986, agency: BIG) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds. Ukrainian Vladyslava Voloshina (177-2000, agency: BIG) contributed with 15 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Ukrainian Elizaveta Mitina (171-1998) replied with 15 points for Tomiris. Turan is looking forward to face Irtysh in Pavlodar in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Tomiris will play on the road against Barsy Atyrau and are hoping to win this game.
Another interesting game for Caspiy Aktau which played in Pavlodar against Irtysh. Caspiy Aktau crushed hosts 78-49. Point guard Alexandra Petelina (168-1998) scored 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Anastasiya Ilyasova chipped in 14 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. point guard Xeniya Abdurashitova (168-2001) responded with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Caspiy Aktau will play against Astana Tigers at home in the next round. Irtysh will play against Turan in Turkestan to get more than just one victory in their record.
An interesting game was also a 23-point tough home loss of Astana Tigers in a game versus undefeated Aktobe 71-48. Aleksandra Varaksina notched 12 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort. Even 17 points and 8 rebounds by Tamara Kuzmina-Yagodkina did not help to save the game for Astana Tigers. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Aktobe will meet at home Okzhetpes in the next round. Astana Tigers will play against Caspiy Aktau and hope to win that game.

In the last game of round 2 Barsy Atyrau were smashed by Okzhetpes on the road 81-57.

Another interesting game for Caspiy Aktau which played in Pavlodar against Irtysh. Caspiy Aktau crushed hosts 78-49. Caspiy Aktau forced 27 Irtysh turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. Point guard Alexandra Petelina (168-1998) scored 31 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the charge for the winners and international center Anastasiya Ilyasova (185-1998) chipped in 14 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. Four Caspiy Aktau players scored in double figures. Okzhetpes used a home court advantage and crushed the opponent from Atyrau 81-57 on Wednesday night. Okzhetpes held Barsy Atyrau to an opponent 20.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 41.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded Barsy Atyrau 54-39 including a 44-30 advantage in defensive rebounds. Okzhetpes looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Barsy Atyrau's players. Russian center Alexandra Kuzmitskaya (193-2002) notched a double-double by scoring 21 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and Russian swingman Daria Surkova (176-2001) supported her with 24 points, 7 rebounds and 10 assists.
