Mammatrimov's double-double lands him Higher League Hoops Agents Player of the Week award

Begzod Mammatrimov

19-year old Begzod Mammatrimov (198-C/F-2004) had a great game in the last round for Turan and receives a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 4.
He had a double-double of 25 points and 14 rebounds, while his team beat Karaganda (#8, 1-4) 60-49. Turan maintains the 3rd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost two games earlier this season. Turan will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. Mammatrimov turned to be Turan's top player in his first season with the team. Mammatrimov has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (5th best: 17.6ppg), rebounds (2nd best: 11.6rpg) and averages solid 2.8bpg and 63.5% FGP.

Second best performed player last round was Alexander Antropov (195-F-1993) of Altay. He is a forward in his 2nd season at Altay. In the last game Antropov recorded impressive 34 points and 8 rebounds. Bad luck as Altay lost that game 70-81 to slightly higher-ranked Barsy 2 (#5, 2-3). Altay is still second from the bottom in the standings. 4 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Altay managed to get this year. Antropov is well-known at Altay and he already established his position as one of the team's leaders.

Third place about best performers goes to guard Anuar Shakirov (180-PG-2000) of league's second-best Shymkent. Shakirov got into 30-points club by scoring 31 points in the last round. He went also for four assists. He was a key player of Shymkent, leading his team to a 76-57 easy win against #4 ranked Bars in a game of the week. Shymkent is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 4-1 record is not that bad... Shakirov has a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 5 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 25.2ppg (best scorer) and assists with 4.8apg (7th best).
