Best players of Kazakhstan Higher League round 6

Victor Verzun

Talented Victor Verzun (197-F-2001) had an amazing evening in the last round for Gotobeles and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 6.
The 21-year old forward had a double-double of 29 points and fourteen rebounds, while his team crushed Irtysh (3-3) with 24-point margin 91-67. Gotobeles is placed at 5th position in Kazakhstan Higher League. Gotobeles is a typical solid league team placed somewhere in the middle or a little bit lower in the standings. They need more victories to improve their 3-3 record. In the team's last game Verzun had a remarkable 80.0% from 2-point range. He turned to be Gotobeles' top player in his first season with the team. Verzun has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (3rd best: 22.5ppg), rebounds (7th best: 8.5rpg) and averages solid 60.0% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young forward Begzod Mammatrimov (198-F-2004) of Barsy 2. The game was between two teams which are definitely not main contenders for the title. But Barsy 2 left the very bottom place moving slightly to 11th position. 5 lost games are too many comparing to just one victory Barsy 2 managed to get this year. Mammatrimov is well-known by Barsy 2 fans and he already established his position as one of team's most reliable players.

The third best performed player last round was Alexey Alyonushka (190-F-1995) of Karaganda (#4). Alyonushka showcased his all-around game by recording 22 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and five assists in the last round. He was a key player of Karaganda, leading his team to a 69-56 easy win against the lower-ranked Caspiy Aktau (#9, 2-4). Karaganda needs these victories very badly if they think about getting closer to top teams. Their record at this point is 4 victories and 2 lost games. Alyonushka has a great season in Kazakhstan. After only 6 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 17.2ppg (8th best), rebounds with 10.7rpg (4th best) and assists with 4.7apg (8th best).
