Maksim Nalogov
Power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-F/C-1994) put on an extraordinary performance in the last round for Bars, receiving a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 28.
The 27-year old player had a double-double of 23 points and 18 rebounds, while his team beat Karaganda (#5, 15-12) 72-65. Bars maintains the 3rd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. They are still close to the very top. Bars would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 23-4 record. Nalogov has many years of experience at Bars, through which he has constantly improved. Maksim Nalogov has solid league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 22.7ppg) and averages impressive 1.1bpg and 54.6% FGP.
The second best player in last round's games was young Andrey Portnyagin (181-G-1994) of Jambyl. Portnyagin had a very good evening with 34 points, 8 rebounds and 2 assists. Of course he led Jambyl to another comfortable win 82-67 over the lower-ranked Astana-2 (#10, 2-25) being unquestionably team leader. Jambyl's 7th position in the standings has not changed. 20 lost games are too many comparing to just seven victories Jambyl managed to get this year. Portnyagin is a newcomer at Jambyl, but is already one of team's top players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.1ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 8.1rpg and 4.2apg.
Third on the list of top players last round was swingman Eset Zharkylov (195-F/G-1998) of league's second-best Qazaqstan. Zharkylov showcased his all-around game by recording 13 points, twelve rebounds (!!!) and six assists in the last round. He was a key player of Qazaqstan, leading his team to a 111-63 easy win against the lower-ranked Namys (#8, 5-22). Zharkylov has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 22 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in rebounds with 9.3rpg (2nd best). He also has 1.0bpg and FGP: 61.3%.
