Higher League Round 26: Qazaqstan clinch the title

The games at this stage are more interesting as they can be crucial for the final standings in Regular Season. Despite we already know who is stronger and who is weaker, there may be still last minute surprises and upsets. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

Higher League top team - Kazygurt (22-2) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed seventh ranked Jambyl (5-20) in Shymkent 131-90. Kazygurt dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Jambyl's 40. Kazygurt forced 23 Jambyl turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 33 assists. Point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-2000) orchestrated the victory with a triple-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 18 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Guard Victor Yuldashev (190-2002) contributed with 31 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Andrey Portnyagin (181-1994) replied with a double-double by scoring 45 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 5 assists for Jambyl. Kazygurt maintains first position with 22-2 record. Jambyl lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the eighth place with 20 games lost. They share the position with ChelSU. Kazygurt are looking forward to face Barsy 2 (#4) in Atyrau in the next round. Jambyl will play at home against ChelSU (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Alma-Ata supposed to be also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Irtysh (10-14) played at the court of 8th ranked Namys (5-19). Irtysh smashed Namys 98-68. Vadim Bagrov (187-2000) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Amirali Suleimenov chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Guard Vladislav Isaenko (193-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Irtysh maintains sixth position with 10-14 record. Newly promoted Namys dropped to the seventh place with 19 games lost. Irtysh will play against higher ranked Karaganda (#5) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Namys will play against the league's second-placed Bars in Petropavlovsk and hope to get back on the winning track.
The game in Karaganda supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Barsy 2 (16-9) played at the court of 5th ranked Karaganda (15-9). Barsy 2 smashed Karaganda 81-59 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Karaganda. Bogdan Rabchenyuk notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 assists to lead the effort. Barsy 2's coach Alexander Lyssyak felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 25 points and 6 rebounds by Dias Katarbay did not help to save the game for Karaganda. Barsy 2 maintains fourth position with 16-9 record. Karaganda at the other side keeps the fifth place with nine games lost. Barsy 2 will meet at home league's leader Kazygurt in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Karaganda will play against Irtysh (#6) in Pavlodar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

In the last two games of round 26 Bars smashed Astana-2 on the road 87-58. ChelSU was destroyed by Qazaqstan on its own court 69-94.
The most impressive performance of 26th round was 15 points and 10 rebounds by Eset Zharkylov of Qazaqstan.



Namys - Irtysh 68-98

The game in Alma-Ata supposed to be also worth to mention about. Sixth ranked Irtysh (10-14) played at the court of 8th ranked Namys (5-19). Irtysh smashed Namys 98-68. Irtysh forced 30 Namys turnovers and outrebounded them 49-37 including 21 on the offensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. Vadim Bagrov (187-2000) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Amirali Suleimenov (190-2003) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. Four Irtysh players scored in double figures. Guard Vladislav Isaenko (193-2004) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and guard Timur Snegirev (186-2004) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. The game in Karaganda supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Barsy 2 (16-9) played at the court of 5th ranked Karaganda (15-9). Barsy 2 smashed Karaganda 81-59 on Tuesday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Karaganda. Barsy 2 had a 32-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Bogdan Rabchenyuk (186-2003) notched a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 assists to lead the effort and guard Mahamtet Kazimov (194-2003) supported him with 11 points and 12 rebounds. Astana-2 - Bars 58-87

No shocking result in a game when second ranked Bars (21-3) crushed on the road bottom-ranked Astana-2 (2-22) 87-58 on Tuesday. Bars shot 61.0 percent from the field. They also forced 20 Astana-2 turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-1994) notched 28 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Roman Dedov (193-1999) supported him with 22 points and 6 steals. Even 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists by guard Askar Serimbet (181-2006) did not help to save the game for Astana-2. Forward Alizhan Ydyryszhan (197-2003) added 13 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Bars have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-3 record behind leader Kazygurt, which they share with Qazaqstan. Astana-2 lost sixth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 22 lost games. Bars will meet at home Namys (#7) in the next round where they are favorite. Astana-2 will play against Qazaqstan in Alma-Ata and hope to secure a win.

Very expected game when 9th ranked ChelSU (5-20) was smashed by third ranked Qazaqstan (21-3) in Kostanay 94-69 on Tuesday. Qazaqstan dominated down low during the game scoring 74 of its points in the paint compared to ChelSU's 34. They outrebounded ChelSU 56-34 including a 20-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Swingman Eset Zharkylov (195-1998) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) to lead the effort and center Rustam Lukmanov (199-1999) supported him with 15 points and 9 rebounds. Four Qazaqstan players scored in double figures. Even 27 points by guard Adilbek Bitenov (174-2001) did not help to save the game for ChelSU. Guard Artem Pedko (191-2000) added 12 points and 5 rebounds for the hosts. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Qazaqstan have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Bars. ChelSU lost fourth consecutive game. ChelSU at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with 20 games lost. They share it with Jambyl. Qazaqstan will meet at home bottom-ranked Astana-2 (#10) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. ChelSU will play against Jambyl and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
