Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-F-1992) had an amazing evening in the last round for top-ranked Kazygurt, receiving a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 21.
The 29-year old player had a double-double of 39 points and 16 rebounds, while his team crushed Karaganda (#5, 12-8) with 17-point margin 89-72. It allowed Kazygurt to consolidate first place in the Kazakhstan Higher League. Kazygurt has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 19-1. In the team's last game Vereshagin had a remarkable 67.9% from 2-point range. He is in league's top in points (4th best: 20.3ppg), rebounds (7th best: 8.6rpg) and averages impressive 58.9% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was young Vladislav Isaenko (193-G-2004) of Namys. Isaenko had a very good evening with a double-double of 26 points and 13 rebounds. Of course he led Namys to another comfortable win outscoring slightly higher-ranked ChelSU (#8, 4-16) 79-56. Despite this victory Namys slide down in the standings to 9th position. 17 lost games are too many comparing to just four victories Namys managed to get this year. They will still need more victories. But 18-3 record is not that bad... Nalogov has a great season in Kazakhstan.
