Jambyl - Irtysh 89-118 The game in Jambyl supposed to be also quite interesting. Sixth ranked Irtysh (8-10) played at the court of 7th ranked Jambyl (4-14). Irtysh smashed Jambyl 118-89 on Thursday. Irtysh dominated down low during the game scoring 80 of its points in the paint compared to Jambyl's 40. Irtysh forced 23 Jambyl turnovers and outrebounded them 55-38 including a 33-22 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists. It was a great evening for Vadim Bagrov (187-2000) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-14 shooting from the field). Guard Shakhnazar Zhandarbek (190-2004) helped adding 16 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Five Irtysh players scored in double figures. Irtysh's coach Zhuldys Baydusenova felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side guard Andrey Portnyagin (181-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 assists and forward Ilkhan Agaliev (192-1998) scored 19 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Irtysh maintains sixth place with 8-10 record. Jambyl lost eighth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. This time newly promoted Astana-2 edged ninth-ranked Namys in Alma-Ata 74-72. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Andrey Litvinenko (191-1997) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Askar Serimbet (181-2006) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Vladislav Isaenko (193-2004) answered with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Aymergen Almakhun (185-2004) added 15 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Namys. Four Namys players scored in double figures. Newly promoted Astana-2 maintains tenth place with 2-16 record. Namys at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with ChelSU. Karaganda dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to ChelSU's 20. Karaganda forced 21 ChelSU turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for guard Andrey Volkov (189-2004) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. Dias Katarbay (183-2001) helped adding 10 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Five Karaganda players scored in double figures. At the losing side forward Dmitry Tkach (193-2003) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 rebounds and guard Adilbek Bitenov (174-2001) scored 18 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Karaganda maintains fifth place with 11-7 record. Newly promoted ChelSU keeps the eighth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Namys. This derby game ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 3rd placed Bars (15-3) to second ranked Qazaqstan (16-2) 57-56 in the game for the second place. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Bars. Swingman Temirlan Dzhunusov (192-1999) fired 17 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Point guard Ismail Bimendin (180-1992) chipped in 10 points. Power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-1994) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Sergey Dyatlik (194-1997) added 19 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for lost side. Newly promoted Qazaqstan maintains second place with 16-2 record having just one point less than leader Kazygurt. Bars at the other side keep the third position with three games lost.
