Higher League Round 15: No surprise as #1 Qazaqstan defeat Irtysh- February 14, 2022

Irtysh - Qazaqstan 64-85 Higher League top team - Qazaqstan (14-2) had no problems winning another game on Sunday. This time they crushed sixth ranked Irtysh (7-9) in Pavlodar 85-64. Qazaqstan dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Irtysh's 28. Qazaqstan forced 19 Irtysh turnovers and outrebounded them 47-28 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was a great evening for swingman Temirlan Dzhunusov (192-99) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points. Forward Adil Narimanov (196-1) helped adding 10 points and 10 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Nikita Gushchin (192-91) with 10 points and 6 assists and guard Amirali Suleimenov (190-3) scored 15 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Qazaqstan have an impressive series of fourteen victories in a row. Newly promoted Qazaqstan maintains first place with 14-2 record. Irtysh lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with nine games lost. Qazaqstan are looking forward to face Barsy 2 (#4) in Atyrau in the next round. Irtysh will play on the road against Bars in Petropavlovsk and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
