Higher League Round 12: Barsy 2 lose to Bars in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Atyrau. 4th ranked host Barsy 2 (8-5) was smashed by second ranked Bars (11-1) 74-52. They made 17-of-18 free shots (94.4 percent) during the game. Bars outrebounded Barsy 2 45-34 including 30 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sergey Dyatlik (194-97) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 6 rebounds and forward Roman Dedov (193-99) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was Begzod Mammatrimov with 15 points and 8 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bars maintains second position with 11-1 record behind leader Qazaqstan. Barsy 2 at the other side keeps the fourth place with five games lost. They are looking forward to face Jambyl (#7) at home in the next round where they are favorite. Barsy 2 will play against Irtysh in Pavlodar and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
The game in Jambyl supposed to be also worth to mention about. Second ranked Qazaqstan (12-1) played at the court of 7th ranked Jambyl (4-9). Qazaqstan smashed Jambyl 110-70. The winners were led by point guard Daniil Seleznyov (187-90) who scored that evening 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and Aziz Yalkunov supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Qazaqstan's coach Aidana Iskakova felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even a double-double of 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds by forward Ilkhan Agaliev (192-98) did not help to save the game for Jambyl. Qazaqstan have an impressive 12-game winning streak. They keep a position of league leader. Jambyl lost third consecutive game. Jambyl at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. Qazaqstan will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jambyl will play on the road against the league's second-placed Bars (#2) in Petropavlovsk and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Karaganda was also quite interesting. Third ranked Kazygurt (10-1) played at the court of 6th ranked Karaganda (6-6). Kazygurt managed to secure a 5-point victory 76-71 on Wednesday. The best player for the winners was Aleksei Vereshagin who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 12 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Vladislav Kuzmichev who recorded 21 points and 5 rebounds. Kazygurt have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 10-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Qazaqstan. Loser Karaganda keeps the sixth place with six games lost. Kazygurt will meet Namys (#9) in the next round where they are favorite. Karaganda will have a break next round.

In the last game of round 12 Namys was destroyed by ChelSU on the opponent's court 103-83.

Qazaqstan dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Jambyl's 40. Qazaqstan forced 21 Jambyl turnovers and outrebounded them 55-33 including a 18-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. The winners were led by point guard Daniil Seleznyov (187-90) who scored that evening 20 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists and point guard Aziz Yalkunov (189-97) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. ChelSU - Namys 103-83

The game between closely ranked teams ended with 9th ranked Namys' (1-11) road loss to eighth ranked ChelSU (2-9) 83-103 on Wednesday. ChelSU made 20-of-21 free shots (95.2 percent) during the game. They also forced 23 Namys turnovers. Strangely Namys outrebounded ChelSU 49-30 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was guard Stanislav Sahipov (190-2) who scored 24 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Artem Pedko (191-0) chipped in 22 points and 6 assists. Five ChelSU players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Yevgeniy Kushniruk (193-98) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 16 rebounds and guard Vladislav Isaenko (193-4) added 20 points and 15 rebounds respectively. Namys' coach Ernar Duanaev rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win. Newly promoted ChelSU maintains eighth position with 2-9 record. Namys lost seventh consecutive game. Namys at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keep the ninth place with 11 games lost. ChelSU will meet bottom-ranked Astana-2 (#10) on the road in the next round. Namys will play against Kazygurt and hope to win that game.
