Higher League Round 11: Qazaqstan defeat Barsy 2 in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

An interesting game for Qazaqstan (11-1) which hosted in Alma-Ata 4th placed Barsy 2 (8-4). First ranked Qazaqstan had an easy win 89-70. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Barsy 2. Qazaqstan forced 20 Barsy 2 turnovers. Swingman Temirlan Dzhunusov (192-99) orchestrated the victory by scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. The former international forward Denis Degtyarev (198-90) contributed with 19 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Guard Mahamtet Kazimov (194-3) answered with 15 points and 8 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for Barsy 2. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Qazaqstan have an impressive series of eleven victories in a row. Newly promoted Qazaqstan maintains first place with 11-1 record. Barsy 2 at the other side keeps the fourth position with four games lost. Qazaqstan are looking forward to face Jambyl (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Barsy 2 will play against the league's second-placed Bars and it may be a tough game between close rivals.

The victory was the eleventh consecutive win for Qazaqstan. Newly promoted Qazaqstan maintains first place with 11-1 record. Irtysh at the other side keeps the fifth position with six games lost. Qazaqstan will play against Jambyl (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Irtysh will have a break next round.
Bottom-ranked Astana-2 is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their 11th consecutive match to third ranked Kazygurt (9-1) 93-46 on Tuesday evening. It was an exceptional evening for Aleksei Vereshagin who led the winners and scored 31 points and 8 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). Alizhan Ydyryszhan came up with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 10 rebounds for Astana-2 in the defeat. Astana-2's coach Deyan Parezhanin gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Kazygurt. They maintain third place with 9-1 record having 2 victories less than leader Qazaqstan. Astana-2 lost their eleventh game in a row. Newly promoted team still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Kazygurt will meet Karaganda (#6) on the road in the next round. Astana-2 will have a break next round.

There were no big surprises in other games of round 11: Irtysh smashed Jambyl on the road 104-83. Barsy 2 destroyed Jambyl on its own court 119-95. Namys was outscored by Karaganda in a road game 89-64. Bars rolled over Irtysh at home 91-63.
The most impressive performance of 11th round was 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists by Vadim Bagrov of Irtysh.



Jambyl - Irtysh 83-104

No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Irtysh (7-6) crushed on the road 7th ranked Jambyl (4-8) 104-83 on Sunday. Irtysh had a 45-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Jambyl's players. It was an exceptional evening for Vadim Bagrov (187-0) who led the winners and scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Guard Ruslan Izmaylov (183-99) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Four Irtysh players scored in double figures. Irtysh's coach Zhuldys Baydusenova felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Berik Zulharnai (183-94) came up with 31 points and 5 rebounds and forward Sergey Kalachikov (195-3) added 17 points and 19 rebounds respectively for Jambyl in the defeat. Irtysh maintains fifth place with 7-6 record. Newly promoted Jambyl keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Irtysh will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jambyl will play against the league's leader Qazaqstan (#1) and hope to secure a win.

Rather expected game when 7th ranked Jambyl (4-8) was smashed by fourth ranked Barsy 2 (8-4) in Atyrau 119-95 on Monday. Barsy 2 dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Jambyl's 30. Barsy 2 forced 25 Jambyl turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Jambyl's players. It was an exceptional evening for forward Rahat Tauken (185-2) who led the winners and scored 33 points (!!!) and 5 steals. Bogdan Rabchenyuk (186-3) accounted for 21 points for the winning side. Four Barsy 2 players scored in double figures. Barsy 2's coach Alexander Lyssyak felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Ilkhan Agaliev (192-98) came up with a double-double by scoring 38 points (!!!) and 11 rebounds and guard Berik Zulharnai (183-94) added 30 points respectively for Jambyl in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Barsy 2. They maintain fourth place with 8-4 record. Newly promoted Jambyl keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. Barsy 2 will meet at home league's second-placed Bars in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Jambyl will play against the league's leader Qazaqstan (#1) and hope to secure a win.

Karaganda dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Namys' 38. Karaganda forced 25 Namys turnovers. It was an exceptional evening for guard Vladislav Kuzmichev (185-94) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Konstantin Teryukov (181-0) accounted for 18 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals for the winning side. Five Karaganda players scored in double figures. Guard Timur Snegirev (186-4) came up with 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Vladislav Isaenko (193-4) added 10 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Namys in the defeat. Namys' coach Ernar Duanaev gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Karaganda maintains sixth place with 6-5 record. Namys lost their sixth game in a row. Newly promoted team keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Karaganda will meet at home higher ranked Kazygurt (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
