Kazakhstan Higher League round 9 best performance: Eset Zharkylov

Swingman Eset Zharkylov (195-F/G-98) had a great game in the last round for second-ranked Qazaqstan, receiving a Hoops Agents Higher League Player of the Week award for round 9.
The 23-year old player had a double-double of 24 points and 14 rebounds, while his team outclassed Namys (#9, 1-9) with 41-point margin 101-60. Qazaqstan maintains the 2nd position in Kazakhstan Higher League. Qazaqstan has a very good season and are considered to have a run for the championship title. They improved their record to 9-1. It was one of impressive evenings for Zharkylov as usually he does not deliver so high stats. Eset Zharkylov has solid league stats. He is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 9.9rpg) and averages impressive 1.2bpg and 54.7% FGP.

The second best player in last round's games was 27-year old Maksim Nalogov (198-F/C-94) of league's leader Bars. Nalogov had a very good evening with a double-double of 18 points and 19 rebounds. Of course he led Bars to another comfortable win 75-61 over the lower-ranked Karaganda (#6, 5-5) being unquestionably team leader. Of course Bars still keep the league's top spot. He plays for the best team in the league and Bars managed to win all 9 games keeping a perfect record. Nalogov is one of the most experienced players at Bars and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 20.5ppg (#3). His other stats are also decent: 14.0rpg and 3.2apg.

Third on the list of top players last round was forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-F-92) of Kazygurt (#3). Vereshagin scored 26 points and grabbed twelve rebounds (!!!). He was a key player of Kazygurt, leading his team to a 82-79 win against slightly lower-ranked Irtysh (#5, 6-4). Kazygurt is closer and closer to top of the standings. They will still need more victories. But 7-1 record is not that bad... Vereshagin has a great season in Kazakhstan. After 10 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in points with 18.3ppg (7th best) and rebounds with 8.4rpg (8th best).
