Astana-2 - Jambyl 68-73 Bottom-ranked Astana-2 is still unable to win any game. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their fourth consecutive match to seventh ranked Jambyl (2-2) 73-68. Jambyl forced 32 Astana-2 turnovers and had a 20-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Andrey Portnyagin (181-94) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 rebounds and guard Igor Varlamov (175-98) who added 10 points and 4 assists during the contest. Jambyl's coach Aziz Tursunbaev allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. At the losing side guard Askar Serimbet (181-6) responded with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists and forward Alizhan Ydyryszhan (197-3) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Qazaqstan made 8 blocks. Bars forced 23 Karaganda turnovers and outrebounded them 38-25 including 27 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Karaganda's players. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Sergey Dyatlik (194-97) who helped to win the game recording 32 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. Power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-94) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Guard Anton Danilenko (187-2) replied with 12 points and swingman Medeu Aukesh (195-5) added 9 points in the effort for Karaganda. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bars have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record, which they share with SCYSS. Karaganda at the other side dropped to the third place with one game lost. They share the position with Qazaqstan. Bars is looking forward to face league's second-placed SCYSS in Alma-Ata in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. Despite that victory Kazygurt went down to eighth position due to points difference. Loser Irtysh keeps the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Barsy 2 and Jambyl. Kazygurt will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Irtysh will play against ChelSU (#11) and hope to secure a win.
