Higher League Round 3: Bars keep a leadership position- October 23, 2021
There are only two more rounds left in the Regular Season in Higher League. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.
Barsy 2 - Kazygurt 69-94 The game in Atyrau supposed to be also quite interesting. Kazygurt (0-0) played at the court of Barsy 2 (1-2). Kazygurt smashed Barsy 2 94-69 on Friday. Kazygurt forced 21 Barsy 2 turnovers. Strangely Barsy 2 outrebounded Kazygurt 40-27 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for point guard Anuar Shakirov (180-0) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-92) helped adding 19 points and 6 rebounds. Five Kazygurt players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Yernar Zheksenbayev (187-1) with 18 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and guard Mahamtet Kazimov (194-3) scored 9 points and 9 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Kazygurt will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Barsy 2 will play against ChelSU (#10) in Kostanay and hope to win that game. Jambyl forced 31 ChelSU turnovers. It was a great evening for forward Stanislav Evtushenko (191-2) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Andrey Portnyagin (181-94) helped adding 20 points and 6 rebounds. Jambyl's coach Aziz Tursunbaev used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. The best for the losing side was power forward Victor Gorshkov (198-89) with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 12 rebounds and guard Dmitriy Luchko (193-97) produced a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds. Five Jambyl and four ChelSU players scored in double figures. Jambyl will meet Astana-2 (#11) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. ChelSU will play against Barsy 2 and hopes to get finally their first victory. Qazaqstan made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Astana-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 39-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for forward Adil Narimanov (196-1) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Tair Meirahanov (183-0) helped adding 20 points. Four Qazaqstan players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Muhammedali Sayranov (190-4) with 10 points and 7 rebounds and forward Ruslanbek Marat (201-5) scored 10 points and 5 rebounds. Astana-2's coach Deyan Parezhanin gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Qazaqstan's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Alma-Ata to the arena Namys. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Namys' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Bars made 8 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Artem Kozyrkin (185-98) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 5 rebounds and 14 assists. Power forward Maksim Nalogov (198-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds. Four Bars players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Yevgeniy Kushniruk (193-98) who recorded 9 points and 6 rebounds and guard Vladislav Isaenko (193-4) added 6 points and 8 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Namys will play next round against strong Qazaqstan trying to get back on the winning streak. It will be a derby game for which supporters look forward to, where their team will face at home their local rival from Alma-Ata - Qazaqstan. Bars will try to continue on its current victory against Karaganda on the road. Irtysh's coach Zhuldys Baydusenova tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Karaganda will play against Bars in Petropavlovsk in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Irtysh will play on the road against SCYSS (#3) in Alma-Ata and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
