It was a great evening for American guard Jeremiah Hill (188-95, college: Valdosta St.) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. Ruslan Aitkali helped adding 25 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Pavel Ilyin (196-92) with 14 points. Tobol's coach Timur Sultanov gave up on the game allowing to play eleven players seeing no chance for a win. The victory was the nineteenth consecutive win for Astana. Defending champion maintains second place with 19-0 record having ten points less than leader Barsy Atyrau. Tobol at the other side keeps the third position with 11 games lost. Astana will again play against Tobol (#3) in Kostanay in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Tobol will have a break next round.

Astana dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tobol's 22 and made 22-of-26 charity shots (84.6 percent) during the game. Astana forced 23 Tobol turnovers and outrebounded them 49-28 including a 37-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by Tobol's players. It was a great evening for American guard Jeremiah Hill (188-95, college: Valdosta St.) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 20 points, 12 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals.
