Higher League Round 21: Kazygurt lose to Bars in the game between Top 4 teams- March 23, 2021

Kazygurt - Bars 64-91 The game between Top Four teams took place in Shymkent. Second-best host Kazygurt (17-5) was smashed by first ranked Bars (19-2) 91-64. Bars dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kazygurt's 28. They outrebounded Kazygurt 41-24 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Maksim Nalagov (198-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and forward Sergey Dyatlik (194-97) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Zhalgasbek Kadyr (180-97) with 13 points and 6 rebounds and Muslim Shakirov scored 9 points and 5 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bars have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Kazygurt at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Bars are looking forward to face bottom-ranked MBJSM (#8) in Alma-Ata in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kazygurt will play at home against Irtysh (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident. Karaganda forced 30 MBJSM turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including 20 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for center Muha Nikolay (212-99) who led his team to a victory with 9 points and 14 rebounds. Dias Katarbay (183-1) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Karaganda's coach Alexander Tyutyunik felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Four Bars players scored in double figures. Vadim Bagrov (187-0) came up with 19 points and 5 assists and guard Nikita Gushchin (192-91) added 5 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Irtysh in the defeat. Strangely Barsy 2 outrebounded Kazygurt 49-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Muslim Shakirov who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-92) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Kazygurt players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mahamtet Kazimov (194-3) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and center Timur Tangiev (193-3) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Barsy 2's coach Alexander Lyssyak tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kazygurt maintains second place with 17-5 record having just one point less than leader Bars. Loser Barsy 2 keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Kazygurt will meet at home Irtysh (#5) in the next round. Barsy 2 will play against Karaganda and hope to secure a win.
