Higher League Round 21: Kazygurt lose to Bars in the game between Top 4 teams

Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

The game between Top Four teams took place in Shymkent. Second-best host Kazygurt (17-5) was smashed by first ranked Bars (19-2) 91-64. Bars dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kazygurt's 28. They outrebounded Kazygurt 41-24 including a 29-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. Power forward Maksim Nalagov (198-94) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and forward Sergey Dyatlik (194-97) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was point guard Zhalgasbek Kadyr (180-97) with 13 points and 6 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Bars have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Kazygurt at the other side keeps the second position with five games lost. Bars are looking forward to face bottom-ranked MBJSM (#8) in Alma-Ata in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Kazygurt will play at home against Irtysh (#5) and is hoping to prove to their supporters that the loss was just an accident.

Power forward Maksim Nalagov (198-94) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and Artem Kozyrkin accounted for 15 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. Vadim Bagrov (187-0) came up with 19 points and 5 assists for Irtysh in the defeat. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bars have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain first place with 19-2 record. Irtysh at the other side keeps the fifth position with 13 games lost. Bars will play against bottom-ranked MBJSM (#8) in Alma-Ata in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Irtysh will play on the road against the league's second-placed Kazygurt in Shymkent and hopes to get back on the winning track.
The game in Atyrau was also quite interesting. Second ranked Kazygurt (17-5) played at the court of 6th ranked Barsy 2 (7-15). Kazygurt managed to secure a 4-point victory 81-77 on Tuesday. The best player for the winners was Muslim Shakirov who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Mahamtet Kazimov who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds. Barsy 2's coach Alexander Lyssyak tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Kazygurt maintains second place with 17-5 record having just one point less than leader Bars. Loser Barsy 2 keeps the sixth position with 15 games lost. Kazygurt will meet at home Irtysh (#5) in the next round. Barsy 2 will play against Karaganda and hope to secure a win.
Third ranked Karaganda (15-7) crushed at home 8th ranked MBJSM (1-21) by 45 points 95-50, which is the biggest margin this round. It was a good game for Muha Nikolay who led his team to a victory with 9 points and 14 rebounds. Karaganda's coach Alexander Tyutyunik felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Newly promoted Karaganda maintains third place with 15-7 record having three points less than leader Bars. MBJSM lost thirteenth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 21 lost games. Karaganda's next round opponent will be Barsy 2 (#6) in Atyrau. MBJSM will play on the road against the league's leader Bars in Petropavlovsk and hope to win that game.

Karaganda - MBJSM 95-50

Third ranked Karaganda (15-7) crushed at home 8th ranked MBJSM (1-21) by 45 points 95-50, which is the biggest margin this round. Karaganda dominated down low during the game scoring 70 of its points in the paint compared to MBJSM's 30. Karaganda forced 30 MBJSM turnovers and outrebounded them 47-34 including 20 on the offensive glass. It was a good game for center Muha Nikolay (212-99) who led his team to a victory with 9 points and 14 rebounds. Dias Katarbay (183-1) contributed with 12 points and 4 assists for the winners. Karaganda's coach Alexander Tyutyunik felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Nurlan Zhanibek (175-99) answered with 19 points and Vladislav Isaenko added 10 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for MBJSM. Power forward Maksim Nalagov (198-94) nailed a double-double by scoring 23 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and guard Artem Kozyrkin (185-98) accounted for 15 points, 9 rebounds and 12 assists. Four Bars players scored in double figures. Kazygurt forced 21 Barsy 2 turnovers. Strangely Barsy 2 outrebounded Kazygurt 49-31 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Muslim Shakirov who scored 16 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Forward Aleksei Vereshagin (200-92) chipped in 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Kazygurt players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mahamtet Kazimov (194-3) who recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and center Timur Tangiev (193-3) added 8 points and 12 rebounds respectively. Barsy 2's coach Alexander Lyssyak tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
